SecureAppbox – the first Swedish company to join the EU commission for reshaping and update cloud security regulations

STOCKHOLM (February 12, 2019) – SecureAppbox is one of several European companies striving towards cybersecurity in EU’s commission. Elected officials will present together which proposals cloud users need to fulfill under the regulations of the Europeans CSP Certification Framework. These proposals will later on apply for all EU countries under the Cybersecurity Regulation.

” We see it as a privilege to be a part of delivering safer cloud services to authorities and municipalities through our experiences,” says Mats Enocson, CISO.

The Cybersecurity Regulation serves to be groundbreaking as it is the first EU-law that grabs the challenges to improve the security of affiliated products, services and critical infrastructures through a certified cyber security framework. The regulations and CSP Certification will apply to all parts of EU. This legislative framework allows users to control the security level and ensure that the security features are verified.

” In the light of today’s different interpretations of safe cloud services, it is clear that the need for a common certification is crucial. A certification of cloud-based services will create increased security for all of us, our infrastructure and the cloud services we use,” states Anders Jonsson, Cybersecurity expert of SecureAppbox.

About EU’s Cybersecurity strategy
EU presented a long-term Cybersecurity strategy in 2013, which is composed of three parts:

  • Increased protection of EU’s personal data (GDPR)
  • Increased protection for important community services (NIS)
  • Increased protection for affiliated products, services and critical infrastructure through a framework for cyber security certification (Cybersecurity Regulation)

On December 10, 2018, EU Cybersecurity approved the regulation, which means that ENISA now has EU’s mandate to implement and ensure compliance with the regulation.

About CSP Cert Working Group:
The group’s goal is to work out proposals for a European cloud certification scheme for cloud services under the Cybersecurity Act (article 47) and to make recommendations.
